Three Miss Wyomings – Miss Wyoming 2010 Alicia (Grove) Hyita, Miss Wyoming 2011 Catherine Brown, and Miss Wyoming 2012 Lexie Madden – will speak at the University of Wyoming’s commencement on May 11.
In addition to representing Wyoming in the Miss America Pageant, Alicia, Catherine, and Lexie are a part of UW’s College of Health Sciences and utilized their education to champion their personal platforms as Miss Wyoming. Alicia, now a nurse, promoted women’s heart health, while Catherine, presently a speech language pathologist, addressed traumatic brain injury prevention and awareness. Lexie, who is completing her studies in kinesiology and health, has promoted her platform, Forever Fit.
Catherine noted, “At the University of Wyoming, I was able to make a life for myself and be supported for that. I was able to explore and take advantage of so many leadership opportunities to really explore my strengths and push my limits on what I was able to do.”
In addition, Miss Wyoming 2008 and Miss Wyoming’s Outstanding Teen 2005 Courtney Gifford will graduate with her master’s degree from the University of Wyoming.
Congratulations to our wonderful Miss Wyomings, who have utilized their education to serve their communities and state!
